THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY JUVENILE COURT CLERK’S OFFICE

CLERK’S OFFICE STAFF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Teams Get the Job Done!  Cross-training has resulted in the development of teams covering all functions of the Clerk’s Office. All full-time Deputy Clerks have been cross-trained to cover at least two different functions within the Clerks Office.

SAVING MONEY!!!  Deputy Clerk ideas for new mailing processes resulted in savings of over $26,000 over the past five years [Bulk Mailing / Certified & Attorney Mailings]

Official Case File Tracking – with the assistance of MCJC Data Services, Clerks use a barcode label which works directly with the Court’s case management system. This results in more efficient auditing and organization of files. By completing the project in-house, the savings to the Court was over $32,000.  More savings was realized in 2007, by the elimination of out cards until needed to hold loose papers.  Out cards used were donated from another Montgomery County agency.

Imaging – in October, 2005 the Juvenile Clerks began imaging complaints.  By May, 2006, all new complaints, motions and entries were being imaged.  Since the inception of the imaging project over 200,000 documents have been scanned, leading to more efficient processing, especially in dependency, neglect and abuse filings.  Additionally, it assists court staff in customer service, as documents can be viewed without the ordering of the hard copy file.
