Juvenile Court Work Program (J.C.W.P)

J.C.W.P. serves all youth between the ages of 12-19 who have been adjudicated delinquent or unruly and ordered to perform community service and/or pay restitution. The J.C.W.P. provides the opportunity for youthful offenders to learn accountability for their behavior, responsibility to the victims and community while learning positive work values and habits. The youth that are ordered to perform community service are ordered to complete from 8 to 24 hours.

The program assigns youth to supervised work detail to complete assigned hours. Supervised work details are scheduled as follows: Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm for youth who are not enrolled in school or who have been suspended or expelled; three work details on Monday-Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in order to accommodate those youth that are attending school on a regular basis; and, a Saturday work detail is scheduled from 8:30am-4:30pm for those who cannot attend wok details during the week.

Our program empowers youth who are incapable of paying restitution to attend these scheduled work details and be credited at a set hourly rate. The maximum dollar amount of restitution that a youth can be ordered to complete through the J.C.W.P is $500.00 per offense. Setting a maximum amount enables us to reimburse as many victims as possible. J.C.W.P. work sites include schools, city, county, and/or municipal departments and non-profit organizations. J.C.W.P. will also complete special community projects when requested.
