PROBATION
Traditional/Geographical Units
Units I, II, and III are considered traditional or geographic units. Cases are assigned according to the zip code or the residency of the custodian of the youth. The traditional units handle approximately 80 percent of the cases referred for probation supervision. Each unit is composed of one supervisor, 8 or 9 probation officers, and a secretary. The average caseload size within the traditional unit varies from 35 to 55 youth.
