Reclaiming Futures at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church
October 29, 2006
October 29, 2006 was Reclaiming Futures Sunday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Montgomery County Juvenile Court Administrative Judge Nick Kuntz appealed to congregants for their support and participation in Reclaiming Futures, an initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help kids caught in the cycle of drugs, alcohol and crime.
The appeal raised awareness of issues related to juvenile drug and alcohol use and crime in Montgomery County and recruited congregants and community members to become Natural Helpers (volunteers) in the Court’s Reclaiming Futures program. Pastor Samuel Winston, Jr., senior pastor at Mt. Calvary, and Charlotte McGuire, Project Director for Reclaiming Futures, also spoke to congregants.
